To adopt you must:
1) Fill out an application (rats are to be adopted out in no less than a pair of the same sex, only male mice can be adopted alone)
2) Provide proof of an appropriate enclosure*

*If you are unsure about a cage contact us BEFORE you buy so we can advise you

3) We will reach out after reviewing your application

Once approved your name will go onto our waitlist for your selected litter, depending on availability.
you will be given an approximate date for when reservations will be opened up
once reservations open you will be emailed a link to our spreadsheet showing each babies stats and availability
reservation links are sent in order of application recieved so each adopter has a place in the queu for adoption
you must be ready to pick up your babies by the 8 week mark unless we state otherwise. Babies who will not be picked up by the 9 week mark require a deposit.
pickups are at Personal Beast in SE portland, we do not allow visitors to our home based rattery.
you must bring an appropriate carrier that is chew proof, ventilated and secure. No cat carriers and no cardboard boxes.

we will not hold babies past 10 weeks old

You must provide proof of appropriate enclosure.

Rat cages must be chew proof, non-porous, properly ventilated, with bar spacing of no more than 1/2" and a footprint of 32" by 18" approx. or 4 cubic square feet per 2 rats (or larger).

Prices are as follows for approved adopters

35 per young rats less than 10 weeks (min 2)
30 for young adults 10 weeks to 6 months (min of 2)
25 for holdbacks or retired breeders (must go in bonded pairs if applicable or to households with existing colonies)
15 per young mouse (min of 3) except for males
10 per adult mouse (min of 3) except for males

We are committed to the health of our rodents. To ensure we are breeding healthy rodents we ask all adopters to inform us of any changes in health or temperament. Do you agree to keep us informed? (we love all updates, regardless!)

If for any reason the rats or mice do not work out for you, you must return them to me or seek approval for rehoming privately.

Montavilla Mischief rats (and mice!) are not to be adopted for purposes other than pets, or therapy animals. We do not give any adopter breeding rights, and we do not condone the feeding of our animals.
